Making his Under-19 ODI debut in the match, he didn't bat or bowl during the 48 run win. The following year he played for Nepal Under-19s in one match against their Indian counterparts in Kirtipur

During that Under-19 World Cup, Nepal went on a remarkable run, beating ICC
full members South Africa and New Zealand. In the plate final against New Zealand, Regmi was the pick of the Nepali bowlers with 3-41 and was the top scorer with 66 as Nepal won by one wicket. He was awarded the man of the match
award for his efforts.
Later in 2006 he made his debut for the full Nepali side, playing in an ICC Intercontinental Cup

became the first bowler to take all ten wickets in an ICC associates/affiliates international. The tournament wasn't a success for Nepal as they lost in the semi-final to Afghanistan, thus missing out on promotion to Division Four, but bounced back to beat the USA in the third place play-off.
Later in the year he played in his second ACC Trophy
in Malaysia. In 2009, he played for Nepal in a three-day match against the MCC
, taking 3-20 and 3-27 to help lead his team to an innings win over an MCC side captained by former England Test cricket
