History
Beaver Harbour was settled in September 1783, by the "Quaker Company" the (spokesmen) agents for which were Joshua Knight, Samuel Fairlamb and John Rankin. The "Quaker Company" was composed almost entirely of members and former members of the Society of Friends from Pennsylvania and New Jersey who being Loyalists left the City of New York upon its evacuation by the British Army at the end of the (American) Revolution.
