Benzopyrone
Encyclopedia
Benzopyrone may refer to either of two ketone derivatives of benzopyran which constitute the core skeleton of many flavonoid compounds:
Certain simple benzopyrones have clinical medical value as an edema modifiers. Coumarin
and other benzopyrones, such as 5,6 benzopyrone, 1,2 benzopyrone, diosmin
and others are known to stimulate macrophages to degrade extracellular albumin, allowing faster resorption of edematous fluids.
Naturally occurring coumarin is also the basis for various 4-hydroxybenzopyrone-based molecules which occur naturally dicoumarol and are made synthetically warfarin
and function as anticoagulants.
- ChromoneChromoneChromone is a derivative of benzopyran with a substituted keto group on the pyran ring. It is an isomer of coumarin.Derivatives of chromone are collectively known as chromones...

Diosmin
Diosmin is a semisynthetic phlebotropic drug , a member of the flavonoid family. It is an oral phlebotropic drug used in the treatment of venous disease, i.e., chronic venous insufficiency and hemorrhoidal disease , in acute or chronic hemorrhoids, in place of rubber-band ligation, in combination...

Warfarin
Warfarin is an anticoagulant. It is most likely to be the drug popularly referred to as a "blood thinner," yet this is a misnomer, since it does not affect the thickness or viscosity of blood...
