Bosanski Brod

Brod also known as Bosanski Brod (Cyrillic: Босански Брод) is a town and municipality located on the south bank of the river Sava in the northern part of Bosnia and Herzegovina
. It is situated in the north-western part of the Republika Srpska and the western part of the Posavina region.
it was Bosanski Brod. However, during the Bosnian War the prefix Bosanski was replaced with Srpski. After the war the name was ruled unconstitutional by the Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina
, and was changed back to Bosanski Brod.
In May 2009, the National Assembly of the Republika Srpska
removed the prefix Bosanski resulting in the name Brod. This has led Bosniaks living in the RS entity to file a judicial protest stating that changing the city's name endangers the vital national interests of the local Bosniak community; the outcome of this lawsuit is still pending.
