Founding

In 2006, Boy Genius founded BGR after success as a blogger for Engadget

 and Engadget Mobile. With numerous breaking news stories about mobile gadgets as well as loyal public support, an independent technology blog was created.

Weblog

BGR is a daily news source for technology, always encompassing cutting edge news and rumors. Unique from other technology weblogs such as Engadget and Gizmodo, BGR does mobile phone giveaways and occasional celebrity appearances. The blog also gives comprehensive and detailed reviews and opinions about various mobile devices.

Currently, BGR has five writers, including Boy Genius.

BGR has been featured in many major news sources such as the Wall Street Journal, ABCNews, Reuters, Huffington Post, CNBC and more. Examples of BGR’s well-known ability to be the first to report news about a gadget include the first pictures of the Android 2.0 in 2009 and the first reported picture of the Amazon Kindle 2 in 2008.

Boy Genius

While running BGR, Boy Genius has remained anonymous about his identity. This ended on April 27, 2010, when Boy Genius revealed himself as Jonathan Geller. The 23-year-old Geller dropped out of Greenwich High School in Greenwich, Conn., and never attended college. Through the creation of BGR, Boy Genius has been ranked number 65 on T3 Magazine
