. The population was 15,645 at the 2010 census.
Bryn Mawr-Skyway is the only census-designated place in the Seattle metro area to report a majority-minority population in the 2000 Census. Bryn Mawr-Skyway also has the highest black population of any CDP in the entire Pacific Northwest, consisting of over a quarter of citizens. A significant Filipino-American community also exists.

Skyway's main business districts lie along Renton Avenue South, with one center between 68th Avenue South and 74th Avenue South, including a small casino and a bowling alley, and another between 75th Avenue South and 78th Avenue South, including a bank branch, the fire station, and the public library (a branch of the King County Library System
). There is also a small business district centered at Martin Luther King Way South (State Route 900) around South 129th Street. Skyway Park, with baseball fields, a creek and wetlands, and picnic areas, is located near the center of Skyway.
Skyway and Bryn Mawr are referred to as "Bryn Mawr-Skyway" or "Skyway-Bryn Mawr". Together with nearby Lakeridge
, the community is sometimes called "West Hill".

There were 5,574 households out of which 28.2% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 45.6% were married couples
living together, 13.7% had a female householder with no husband present, and 35.8% were non-families. 27.9% of all households were made up of individuals and 9.3% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.50 and the average family size was 3.08.
In the CDP the population was spread out with 22.8% under the age of 18, 7.9% from 18 to 24, 31.0% from 25 to 44, 24.4% from 45 to 64, and 13.9% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 38 years. For every 100 females there were 97.6 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 95.3 males.
