History

CHML began operations in 1927 as a response to censorship

 of political discussions by Hamilton's first radio station, CKOC. The original owners were Maple Leaf Radio Company, and the "HML" in the callsign stood for "Hamilton Maple Leaf". Broadcaster Ken Soble took over CHML in 1944. Shortly after Soble's death, his estate sold the station to Western Broadcasting, later known as Western International Communications

Programming

The station has several local daily talk show programs.

Weekdays, CHML has Non-Stop News, which airs from 5:00am to 9:00am. The Bill Kelly Show follows airing from 9:00am to noon (and also simulcasted on Cable 14 Television). And from Noon to 3:00pm is The Scott Thompson Show. Finishing out the afternoon into the evening is Non-Stop News from 3:00pm to 6:00pm.
