Carol Montgomery

Carol Montgomery (born August 24, 1965 in Sechelt, British Columbia
) is an athlete from Canada
who competes in the triathlon
. She won the bronze medal at the 1999 Pan American Games
in Winnipeg, Canada, and the gold medal at the 2002 Commonwealth Games in Manchester, England.
Carol attended Simon Fraser University in the mid 80's where she honed her running capabilities before embarking on her triathlon career.
Montgomery competed at the first Olympic triathlon at the 2000 Summer Olympics
. She did not finish the competition due to a crash on the bike leg. She was also selected to compete in the 10,000 meters on the track, but had to withdraw due to injury sustained in the triathlon crash.
Four years later, at the 2004 Summer Olympics
, Montgomery did finish with a time of 2:15:25.62 earning her thirty-fifth place.
She is one of seven children and has 4 nieces and 3 nephews.
