It is the second largest mall in Surrey, smaller than Guildford Town Centre
and larger than Semiahmoo Shopping Centre
. The mall was constructed in the 1960s and it became Surrey's first enclosed shopping mall. The mall signaled the growing predominance of that district as Surrey's predominant shopping area. The construction of the Port Mann Bridge and Guildford Town Centre began to challenge the mall's position as a dominant shopping centre. By the 1990s the downfall became great and the mall had loss a lot of its foot traffic and stores became unrented. In 2000 the shopping centre went through major renovations and was upgraded by 2003 adjoining Simon Fraser University
