Chaminade College School is an all-boys Catholic

Founded in 1964 by the Archdiocese of Toronto, it opened its doors in September, 1965. Initially under the control of the Society of Mary, the school was named for the Society's founder, Father William Joseph Chaminade
.
In 1967, Chaminade began a partnership with the Toronto Catholic District School Board. In this partnership, the Board conducted the first two years of secondary school, and the Archdiocese conducted the remaining years. In September 1972, the Irish Christian Brothers took over administration of the school, until their departure in June, 1988. The school is currently fully operated by the Toronto Catholic Board.
The school's motto is "Fortes in fide", and the school rally, "C! C! S!", became famous in 1992 by then-Vice Principal Mr. Ron O'Toole's irregular and varying chanting syncopation at school functions and gatherings to garner enthusiasm.
Two of the most famous graduates was Lukas Rossi
(winner/ lead singer of Rockstar Supernova), who graduated in 1995 and Martin Broda (winner/ singer and bassit of Disband's Abandon All Ships
) who graduated in 2007. Chaminade was also the high school attended by the prime suspect/witness in the infamous boxing day shooting of Jane Creba, Richard Steele

The school won a Green Toronto award in 2007 for its pioneering efforts in establishing the Adopt a Stream project that became a city-wide model for waterway cleanup. In 2008 students circulated a petition which resulted in the Province of Ontario outlawing smoking in automobiles when children are passengers.
. In 2003, the Chaminade Concert Band produced their own CD entitled The Big Picture, which hit shelves just in time for the holiday season.
