Charles Montagu-Scott, 4th Duke of Buccleuch

Charles William Henry Montagu-Scott, 4th Duke of Buccleuch & 6th Duke of Queensberry, KT (24 May 1772 – 20 April 1819) was the son of Henry Scott, 3rd Duke of Buccleuch
and Lady Elizabeth Montagu. His maternal grandparents were George Montagu, 1st Duke of Montagu
and Lady Mary Montagu, daughter of John Montagu, 2nd Duke of Montagu
and Lady Mary Churchill.
Earl of Dalkeith, was born in England on 24 May 1772. He was the fourth child of seven, and second son born to Henry Scott, 3rd Duke of Buccleuch
and Lady Elizabeth Montagu. His elder brother George had died when only two months old after receiving a smallpox inoculation.
On 24 March 1795, Lord Dalkeith married the Honourable Harriet Katherine Townshend, daughter of Thomas Townshend, 1st Viscount Sydney
, and they had seven children:
