to serve as the head of the provincial government in Punjab, Pakistan
. The current Chief Minister is Shahbaz Sharif
, who became the Chief Minister of Punjab as being restored after Governor's rule starting from February 25, 2009 to March 30, 2009. Shahbaz Sharif
took the office on March 30, 2009. He was elected before as the Chief Minister of Punjab by the Provincial Assembly but later on was removed from the office due to court decisions and Governor Rule was imposed. The new decision of the court on March 30, 2009 restored Shahbaz Sharif
