Chilliwack is a provincial electoral district in British Columbia
, Canada
. A riding by this name has been in use continuously from 1916 to 2001, and it was re-established and contested in the 2009 provincial election
.
riding, which used the older spelling of the name and had slightly different boundaries. Chilliwack riding lasted until the 1996 election
. In 2001
the area became represented by Chilliwack-Kent
and Chilliwack-Sumas
. Following the 2008 redistribution, Chilliwack will be reconstituted, primarily out of Chilliwack-Sumas, while much of Chilliwack-Kent will be joined with parts of the Fraser Canyon
previously in Yale-Lillooet
to form Chilliwack-Hope
.
