In 1899, the club moved to its current location at Plaza Jewell, named after brothers Charles and Edward Jewell who gifted the land to the club. It is during that period that Rosario Cricket Club changed its name to "Club Atlético del Rosario".

The club was founded as a cricket club on March 27, 1867 by british railway workers, under the name "Rosario Cricket Club".
