The Colombia national under-20 football team, is controlled by the Federación Colombiana de Fútbol and represents Colombia
in international under-20 football competitions.

In the 2007 edition Colombia was one of the favorites to win the tournament as reigning Champions but failed to qualify after finishing 1st in their Group that featured Argentina.

This is seen as a new golden generation of players for Colombia. Many of the players from 2005 are already in Europe or are performing well in teams in the Americas. This is the team that won the South American Youth Championship in 2005 that was held in Colombia, and then later lost in the Round of 16 against eventual winners Argentina at the World Cup 2–1 by a late goal by Lionel Messi

This Colombian team finished 3rd in the World Cup lost against Spain in semifinals and beating Argentina in the Third place match. Lot of Promising stars, many of which have broken into the Colombian national team and are in Europe.
