Jim Malec of The 9513 gave the song a "thumbs down" review, as he thought that the lyrics were "three minutes of step-by-step instructions pertaining to the exact method by which you will leave your house/apartment", "one of the most pointless songs [he's] ever heard", and "like something a fifth-grader would write". He also felt that the song's steel guitars were gratuitous, and that overall, the production was "straightforward proto-pop".
