Council for Economic Planning and Development (CEPD, Traditional Chinese: 經濟建設委員會) is a government agency
responsible for drafting overall plans for national economic development in the Free Area of the Republic of China
. It also assesses development projects, proposals and programmes submitted to the Executive Yuan
. It also coordinates the economic policy making activities of ministries and agencies and the monitoring the implementation of development projects, measures, and programmes. The CEPD acts in an advisory role to the central government in formulating economic policies.
The agency was established in 1984. The current chairperson in charge of the council is Ms. Ho Mei-yueh. The chairperson reports to the Minister and three Vice Ministers and one Secretary-General.
