Cudworth was a constituent part of the parish of Royston
; it became part of Monk Bretton
parish in 1838 until it finally became a separate Anglican parish in 1892. In 1920, a war memorial was erected in the churchyard to remember all the servicemen and women of Cudworth who died in World War I
