lawyer, businessman and the Chairman of the Board of the Canadian National Railway Company

In 1972, he founded his own real estate investment firm, The McLean Group
and is the Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer.
In 1994, he was appointed to the Board of Directors of Canadian National Railway Company (he was also a member of the Board from 1979 to 1986) and became Chairman in December 1994. He also served as Chair of the University of British Columbia
's Board of Governors.
He was appointed to the Order of British Columbia
in 1999. He is a Knight of Justice in the Sovereign Order of St. John of Jerusalem.
