Don Loney

Don Loney is a retired professional Canadian football
centre
. He played for the Ottawa Rough Riders
from 1947 to 1951, winning the Jeff Russel Memorial Trophy
in 1950 (as Eastern MVP). He later was head football coach of St. Francis Xavier University
between 1957 and 1973. Since 1973, the Atlantic Bowl
MVP award has been named after Loney. He was inducted into Canada's Sports Hall of Fame
in 1988.
