Playing career

As a kid, he started playing football in his favourite FK Željezničar. He was considered to be one of the biggest prospects in the club and when he have reached the senior squad, he was sent on loan to UNIS Vogošća. In 1992, war in Bosnia and Herzegovina began and every football activity was stopped. However, club was reestablished soon and Muharemović played in first Bosnian championship

Although he was playing as a midfield playmaker in the team, he was the best goalscorer of Bosnian league in 2000/2001 season with record 31 goals. He is an owner of many other records. He is second all-time record goalscorer in the club's history and also a joint topscorer in history of Sarajevo derby
