. Edmund Rice College is a Catholic Secondary College catering for boys from Years 7 to 12. Situated at West Wollongong between Mount Keira Road and Keira Park on ten and a half hectares, it has excellent playing fields and beautiful landscaped gardens.

The College provides an education in the Catholic tradition integrating Faith, learning and culture. It offers students a systematic program of Religious Education incorporating values-formation while liturgical experiences in the beautiful College Chapel foster students' prayer life and spirituality.

While there is an emphasis on Catholic beliefs, values and traditions, students from different Christian denominations and other religious traditions are welcomed and valued.

While Edmund Rice College is an Independent College its fees are comparable to other Catholic high schools in the region and it is readily accessible by school transport from all parts of the Illawarra.
The College offers a broad and varied curriculum. As an all boys school it is able to focus on current issues relating to needs which are specific to boys' education.

The Pastoral Care program of the College has a wide range of strategies designed to assist students to cope with the challenges and demands of school life and systematically acknowledges and rewards meritorious efforts by students in all areas of achievement.
The unique extended hours timetable provides an early start and finish to the day for years 7 - 10 and for seniors (years 11 & 12) a later start and finish. This structure allows for maximum use of modern, educational resources, an uncrowded campus and provides an appropriate flexibility for students in attending to their studies and various other commitments and interests.

A College Board and a Parents' and Friends' Association encourages parental interest and involvement in the education of their sons through building a sense of community and assistance in shaping policies and programs. There is also another College of the same name in Northern Ireland.

The college offers students numerous sporting opportunities, possible with a programme of integrated sport offered through the Personal Development Health Physical Education (PDHPE) syllabus. Students who represent the college the college are expected to be properly attired and to fulfil all training and playing commitments. Students are required to play their games in good spirit and good sportsmanship. The proper formalities and courtesies, in particular the respecting of the umpire/referee's decision and the congratulations and thanks at the end of the game, are to be regarded as very important as part of the college code for the development of students discipline and maturity.
