In Mexico, Rubio went through a horrible time only playing nine times and never finding the back of the net. At the end of 2007 Rubio returned to Chile on a year long loan, to play for Colo-Colo
where he enjoyed modest success. On July 19, 2008, it was announced he had signed for Swiss Super League
