s to a maximum height of 80 m, while the fourteen storey British American Oil Building cost $4,500,000 and was completed in 1961. A third tower, the fourteen storey tall Guinness House was completed in 1964 at a cost of $5,000,000.

The complex was designed by Rule, Wynn, Rule architects, and constructed by the Commonwealth Construction Company between 1959 and 1964.

The complex has 447814 ft (136,493.7 m)² of office space, with 172081 ft (52,450.3 m)² in the main tower.

In 2005, the Calgary Heritage Authority added Elveden House to its list as a Category A (top priority) site.
