NCAA Championship side in 2008. Ervin then progressed to playing in the NBA Development League
from 2008 with Sioux Falls Skyforce
, before transferring to Tulsa 66ers
from January 2009. Ervin was then drafted to Maine Red Claws as a 57th overall pick in the fourth round at the start of the 2009-10 season.
Ervin continued to play in street leagues over summer including Nike Pro City, Dykman and West 4th Street. He also played in the Premier Basketball League
(PBL) with Halifax Rainmen where he averaged 15.4 points, 6.5 assists and 6.5 rebounds per game, while also winning the MVP award for the PBL All-star game in 2010.

In his first season with Wollongong Ervin proved a sensation. In 27 games he averaged 20.1 points, 3.4 rebounds and 4.5 assists per game on his way to winning the NBL's Most Valuable Player
award for 2011 becoming the first Hawk to do so since Mike Jones back in 1981. He was also selected to the All NBL First team
for the 2010-11 season. He has not been resigned by the Hawks for the 2011-12 season.
