Gauhati Town Club is a sports club based in Guwahati

, which has a long history of excelling in football by winning the prestigious Bordoloi Trophy and numerous front ranking tournaments of Assam and had the distinction of participating in several first class tournaments such as the IFA Shield, Rovers Cup, DCM Trophy, etc. Its professional football and cricket teams now include some of the best talent of northeastern India as well as other parts of the country and abroad. The club has produced several cricketers who played for the Assam Ranji Trophy team as well as for East zone teams in Deodhar Trophy, Duleep Trophy, and junior level Indian teams.
In 2010 the GTC Football team has qualified to play in the Indian National Football League - B Division under the aegis of All India Football Federation. The team has been consider as one of the top team of Assam which participated in Assam Premier Football League organized by Assam Football Association. It is also a regular team in the Super Division League of Guwahati Sports Association.

1906-2010
Located at the heart of Guwahati and adjacent to the Judges' Field, Gauhati Town Club is committed to promote sports and sportspersons . This historical and prestigious institution has completed one hundred years of its glorious and fruitful existence. It is one of the oldest and the premier sporting organization in the north-east blessed with the rare distinction of being a pioneer of Indian Clubs and being considered as a 'State Institution'. It was born at the initiative of a dedicated group of sports-lovers in the person of Capt. L.B.Scott, I.M.S. who was a Civil Surgeon, Dr. H.K. Das, an Assistant Surgeon and founder Secretary of the club; Sir Saiyid Saadullah, an eminent lawyer and Khan Saheb Khalilur Rahman Significantly, the club was essentially instrumental in introducing the coveted Bordoloi Trophy Football Tournament, initially played at the Judges' Field from 1952 to 1957. Ranji Trophy Cricket matches were also played at the same venue. Over the years the Club have had the patronage and blessings of illustrious individuals in the person of Dr. Sarvapalli Radhakrishana and Fakhruddin Ali Ahmed the then President of the Replublic of India, Saiyid Fazl Ali the then Governor of Assam, Sri Saiyid Saadullah, Lokapriya Gopinath Bordoloi the first Prime Minister of Assam and distinguished member of the club, Bimala Prasad Chaliha, the then Hon'ble Chief Minister of Assam, Sarjoo Prasad, the then Hon'ble Chief Justice of Gauhati High Court, Naval T. Tata, Radha Govinda Baruah, P. K. Lahiri, Ramesh Chandra Sarswati, Bipin Behari Das, Dr. Kanak Chandra Barooah, Dr. Suren Das, Ramesh Chandra Das, Nripendra Narayan Bhattacharjee, Sri Jagannath Sarma and a host of other distinguished luminaries.2011-present
