General Service Area is a term used by the Canadian
province of Nova Scotia
to describe the boundaries of areas that are communities or place names in Nova Scotia.
A General Service Area is located within a municipality which can be either an incorporated county, a municipal district, an incorporated town, or a regional municipality
(Nova Scotia does not have cities).
The Government of Nova Scotia
designates General Service Areas by means of the Department of Service Nova Scotia and Municipal Relations.
