Genesi
Encyclopedia
Genesi is computer company focused on building Power Architecture
and ARM architecture
computers. The organization is split into two units, Genesi USA, Inc. working out of Texas
operating as the primary front-end for sales, customers and developers, and bplan GmbH based in Germany
as the primary center for research and development.
Genesi once funded the development of the MorphOS
operating system
but a schism between project team members forced development to be put on hold. However, Genesi remains main supporter for the platform and continues to provide development resources.
Genesi is a part of Power.org
promoting the use of Power Architecture technology, and also runs PowerDeveloper, a support site for Genesi products and Power products from other manufacturers.
