Mission
In its mission to connect students from around the world who are passionate about international affairs, Global21 seeks to use its network to create a practical tool for dialogue that will produce greater international cooperation and understanding in the future. Through article exchanges, an international blog, and worldwide conferences, Global21 helps high-achieving students hone the skills necessary to excel in business, non-profit, journalism, and government work, with the hope that these students will graduate from university with the drive and ability to tackle the global issues we will face in the future.Structure and Activities
While each Globalist chapter has its own editorial and executive staff, the Global21 network is governed by an Executive board based at Yale. By working with students at universities around the world, Global21 continues to develop new chapters and provide financial and editorial assistance to existing ones. Each of these chapters, in turn, publishes its magazine on a quarterly basis. To connect worldwide Globalist chapters, Global21 sponsors article exchanges, joint magazine publications, global issues forums, and a yearly journalism contest, as well as publishes a blog of perspective pieces from Globalist writers. In 2008, Global21 also held an international conference in Turkey to bring together leaders from each Globalist chapter to discuss their progress and the future of Global21. Global21 will host its next conference in August, 2011 at the Yale campus in New Haven, CT.Additionally, in 2009 Global21 partnered with the Tony Blair Faith Foundation
