Gradski vrt is a multi-use stadium
in the Croatia
n city of Osijek
. It is home to two Croatian football
clubs, NK Osijek
and Fortuna VNO Osijek.
It has a capacity of 22,050 (19,350 for seating and 2,700 for standing).
In 1980, unfinished stadium was opened.
In 1982 was broken the record of stadium attendance, on football match between NK Osijek
and Dinamo Zagreb. On that match, on stadium were 40,000 attendants. Result was 2-2.
In 1998 are installed seats and reflectors.
In 2005 stadium was edited. Under west stand were set VIP rooms, lodge is rearranged (1,000 new seats). And athletic track is renewed, overpainted from red to blue. After this renovation, the stadium is respected by UEFA
criterias of stadiums. In the same year, stadium was a part of Croatia
and Hungary
's failed bid for the 2012 European Football Championship. Then were presented a projects of a new stadium with a larger capacity.
In 2010, stadium was again edited: a lawn is edited, fences are overpainted and seats are numbered. The reason was friendly match between Croatia and Wales
