. The service is currently made up of 255 uniformed staff and 102 civilians. Two K-9 officers are included in the uniform staff.

Ian Davidson replaced former police Chief Alex McCauley upon his retirement. McCauley had fought for a new police station to replace the outdated station located at 200 Larch Street. In addition to the 200 Larch Street site, detectives were located in a separate building across the street. Zanibbi wanted to combine all police operations under one roof. Another concern was the safety of officers after a homemade bomb was placed outside the former Larch Street location and detonated. Eventually, approval was granted for the Sudbury Regional Police to be relocated to Tom Davies Square
