. Formed in 1867 and located in the Montreal
region, it existed until 1912, when it was part of Montreal-Hochelaga until 1923. The name Hochelaga was reused when the riding of Hochelaga-Maisonneuve
was formed in 1989.
It was named after the former aboriginal village of Hochelaga (where today is located Montreal) which existed when France
