Hongshi

Hongshi (18 March 1704 – 20 September 1727) was a Manchu prince
of the Aisin Gioro
clan, and the third son of the Yongzheng Emperor
of China's
Qing Dynasty
. His mother was the Yongzheng Emperor's concubine, Consort Qi of the Li clan
(齊妃李氏).
Instigated in part by his uncle, Yinsi, Prince Lian
, Hongshi plotted against his younger half-brother Hongli, Prince Bao (the later Qianlong Emperor
). As a result, he was stripped of his titles and was forced to hang himself before Hongli
ascended the throne in 1735. This was due to the Yongzheng Emperor
's own prolonged struggle against his many brothers for the throne, and their constant sabotaging of his policies thereafter. Afterwards, Hongshi was forever expelled from the Aisin Gioro
clan.
