) sits his daughter and son down to tell them the story of how he met their mother.

Ted starts his first day as an architecture professor, standing in the middle of a classroom - although the mother was present, it turns out it was an economics class and not the architecture class he is supposed to teach. Barney and Robin have had a sexual relationship throughout the summer and Lily locks them in a room, forcing them to come to terms with their relationship.
