launched in 2004, the channel was sold to Disney in 2006. The channel retained its own identity and is helping to increase Disney's presence in India. Hungama is now an operating unit of Disney Channel

As a result, the said program, Shinchan, was stopped telecasting. This, in turn, turned the fans of Shinchan disappointed towards Hungama TV and wanted a re-telecast of Shinchan. The period when Shinchan was stopped was utilized to remove scenes and languages that would probably be harmful to children. This program was again telecast on Hungama TV. Thus the channel remained as popular as before.
