Igor Caşu is a historian from the Republic of Moldova.
, district Comrat, now in Leova. He graduate from University of Iaşi in 1995 and got a PhD from University of Iaşi in 2000. He contributed to the Presidential Commission for the Study of the Communist Dictatorship in Romania
.
In 2000 fall semester he was Fulbright Scholar-in-Residence at Lenoir-Rhyne College in Hickory, North Carolina.
Igor Caşu is also deputy Chair of the Commission for the analysis of the totalitarian communist regime in the Republic of Moldova, designated by Presidential

.
Since October 2010 he is Director of the Center for the Study of Totalitarianism at the Faculty of History and Philosophy, Moldova State University in Chisinau. He is also contributing for Radio Free Europe, Romanian language section as well as to daily Adevarul, Chisinau edition (www.adevarul.ro/moldova).
