In 1957, Moskvin began coaching Tamara Bratus

, who was 16 years old at the time. They married in 1964 and have two daughters. When asked about their possible coaching rivalry, Moskvin answered that he had never thought of them as rivals, because he coaches singles and "Tamara mostly works with pairs". Many of his pupils later became coaches. Tamara Moskvina said that he was able to infect people with love for coaching.
