The Isle Of Wight Festival 2008 was the seventh revived Isle of Wight Festival
held at Seaclose Park
in Newport
on the Isle Of Wight. The event took place between June 13 and June 15, 2008.
Tickets went on sale in December 2007 and were sold out within weeks.
This year was the first time that the festival was screened live on TV. After four years of highlights packages being broadcast on Channel 4, this year ITV announced that they had won the rights to broadcast live on ITV2. There were live programmes on each of the three days; starting at 11:00pm on Friday, Saturday and Sunday and contain mainly highlights of the days performances, along with live coverage of the headliners' sets.

New features
- Festival First was a new system for 2008 which guarantees members two tickets for the next three years, for a one off fee of £75. It also allows other benefits such as a fast entry queue, solely for Festival First users, and other privileges yet to be announced. It has been designed as a way to guarantee members the peace of mind that they have no ticket worries.
- The Big Top Arena was introduced featuring major acts such as The Sugababes in addition to acts on the main stage.
- Wristbands were sent out to Festival goers about a week in advance, in part to prevent large queues forming at the main entrance on the Friday but also to prevent ticket fraud, a major problem at the 2007 event. The new wristbands featured a holographic design showing last years main stage.

. A new BT tent was put up, enabling Festival goers to make free calls and surf the internet on site. - In an attempt to reduce rubbish, paper cups could be traded in for 10p at stands across the Festival site. In addition to this, coloured recycling bins were introduced.
