Jacquelyn Brechtel Clarkson (born 1935) is the current president of the New Orleans City Council
and a former member of the Louisiana House of Representatives

. Clarkson called for White's dismissal, but Nagin defended White.
Clarkson was re-elected as Councilmember at Large in February 2010 (again narrowly defeating Cynthia Willard-Lewis), and was named president of the council in May 2011.
