The Jinyang New District is a new urban district located northwest of the city center of Guiyang
, the capital of Guizhou Province, in southwest China
. Guiyang has a mild climate with cooler summers and better air quality than most other Chinese cities. Nicknamed "the Forest City", with an average altitude of 1,100 meters Guiyang is surrounded by mountains and lush forests while the Jinyang New District (JYND) is situated beyond the city's mountains on high-plains interspersed with rolling hills at an average altitude of 1,400 meters.
As a new city district of Guiyang, the JYND is focused on government, finance, real estate, high-tech, aerospace and commercial services. Since its inception in 2001, through the end of 2008, 43 billion yuan was invested in the JYND. Since 2006 the JYND has been home to Guiyang's Municipal Government Administration and CCP Offices.
While the population of the JYND has more than doubled in 5 years from 70,000 in 2004 to 180,000 by the end of 2008, the area's population is anticipated to climb exponentially over the next 5 years as a majority of Guizhou provincial and Guiyang municipal government agencies, many major local employers as well as several large national corporations relocate to the JYND and the area’s transportation and logistics infrastructure link the district to the regional and national transportation grids.
The JYND has a well-developed road transportation network with a grid of signalized multi-lane roadways capable of adequately addressing anticipated heavy future traffic flows as well as providing convenient access to the Gui-Zun Expressway, the Guiyang Orbital Highway, and the national hi-speed rail and city light-rail networks currently under construction. Both the Gui-Zun Expressway and the Guiyang Oribital Highway pass through the JYND and are part of the national trunk highway system and provide the JYND with rapid vehicular access to the city center, airport, all points within Guizhou Province the cities of Zunyi

Large Projects and Important Employers in Jinyang New District
- The Municipal Administration Center of the Guiyang city government in JYND employs 20,000 people .
- In 2009 the Shanghai-based Aviation Industry Corporation of China (AVIC) signed a 8.2 billion yuan deal with the Guiyang City government to build a 5 square kilometer manufacturing base in the neighboring Baiyun District which will not only make aircraft engines but also develop new energy devices, electric vehicles and auto parts. The headquarters and administrative offices for AVIC will be located in the JYND.
- Guiyang International Exhibition and Convention Center opened in 2011, with 2 million square meters of space, and can host conventions with as many as 20,000 visitors. The Convention and Exhibition Center hosted the 2011 Global Eco-Forum Guiyang jointly sponsored by the Chinese Government and the United Nations. The Center also houses the new 366-room Hyatt Regency Guiyang and the Zhongtian Super Mall, a 330,000 square meter (3.5 million square feet) multi-level shopping center.

in JYND, opened in 2011 and hosted the 9th Chinese Traditional Games for Ethnic Nationalities The Olympic Center includes a 52,000 seat stadium, a swimming and diving hall, and 17 tennis courts. The total area is 289,000 square meters. - Century Town in JYND is the largest planned urban development in East Asia with 40,000 residences.
- Guiyang Central High Speed Rail Station and Marshalling Yards will offer passenger and freight service on CRH bullet trains that travel at average speeds of 300 km/h. These bullet trains will travel from Guiyang to Chongqing in 1.5 hours, Chengdu in 3 hours, Guangzhou in 3 hours, Shanghai in 8 hours, and Beijing in 9 hours.

(CWTP) is a large hi-tech park composed of seven class A multi-use buildings comprising 164,000 square meters(1.72 million sq.ft.) of office, lab, meeting, residential, hotel, dining and retail space. It is anticipated that within 3 years of opening in 2011, between 6,000 and 10,000 workers will be employed in CWTP. Construction of the CWTP campus is currently underway with the initial occupancy estimated for early 2012. - In 2011, Guizhou Provincial General Hospital announced the location of its new main campus in the JYND, north of the City's government administrative complex. The new campus will be a large-scale medical and research center employing over 10,000 physician and staff.
- The Marriott International Corporation will open the new 340-room Renaissance Guiyang Hotel in February 2012. The hotel adjoins Guanshan Park and is also adjacent to the Municipal Government Administration Complex.
- JYND is home to the regional headquarters of several large companies including AVIC-Comac, Chinalco, China Mobile, China Southern Coal, China Hydro Engineering, China Southern Power Grid, and Kweichow Maotai Distillers.
