Department Organization
The Johnson City Police Department is headed by the Chief of Police, who is assisted by two Majors, with various Captains, Lieutenants, and Sergeants who command various units throughout the department and act and shift commanders. The Chief of Police reports to the Public Safety Director. As a part of the Johnson City Public Safety, all Police Officers receive firefighting training, and have access to firefighting equipment in their patrol cars.Specialized units within the department include SWAT, K-9 Officers, and SRO Officers.
