There were 699 households out of which 29.6% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 46.9% were married couples
living together, 9.7% had a female householder with no husband present, and 37.8% were non-families. 29.5% of all households were made up of individuals and 5.0% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.40 and the average family size was 2.98.
In the city the population was spread out with 24.3% under the age of 18, 8.0% from 18 to 24, 34.1% from 25 to 44, 25.5% from 45 to 64, and 8.0% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 37 years. For every 100 females there were 110.9 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 108.3 males.
The median income for a household in the city was $43,167, and the median income for a family was $47,708. Males had a median income of $31,888 versus $26,797 for females. The per capita income
for the city was $21,256. About 3.1% of families and 6.8% of the population were below the poverty line, including 7.3% of those under age 18 and 0.9% of those age 65 or over.
As of Spring 2008, FM 1431 is under major reengineering to straightening and widen the highway to support rapid growth on the north side of FM 1431.

Jones Brother's Park is a huge waterfront public area on Lake Travis featuring 2 boat ramps, a playground, several Great Texas Oaks, a basketball court, a large open field ideal for playing Frisbee or flying a kite, and an array of shaded picnic areas. Pecan Bottom Park was officially turned into a public park after locals constantly maintained a rock damn in Sandy Creek.
Although there were three in the 1990s, Jonestown currently has no open public pools as all of them have been filled in and turned into gardens.

The Jonestown Plaza is central to local social services. 2 day old assorted breads, pastries, and cakes are available most of the time in the Nutrition Center. New in 2007 is a comprehensive medical center approximately 5 miles east on FM1431 with a 150 bed hospital and advanced services. Minimum quality medical service is sometimes available at the MAP Clinic in the back of the plaza. Parks and recreation
