Jorrit Bergsma is skating for the BAM team since the season 2010-2011.
At 10 Oktober 2009 he won his first skating match (the Marathon), the DSB Bank Cup. During the season 2009-2010 he tried to qualify for the Olymic Games for Kazakhstan

Bergsma won the Dutch Marathon Championships at 10 February 2010 by beating Douwe de Vries. At 29 December 2010he won the Ronde van Duurswold, the first edition of this Classic at natural ice.
