In addition to ten years of involvement with the school board, Kaye Kory has been a member of the Annandale Chamber of Commerce; the Virginia League of Conservation Voters and the NAACP. She has also been a member of the Fairfax County Democratic Committee since 2001. In June 1999, Kory won a special election for the Fairfax County Public School
board.
Kory won her next three subsequent elections by some of the largest margins in the Mason District and across Fairfax County.
In addition, Kory has also served as a member on the Fairfax County Action Advisory Board, the Board (member and President) of the Montessori School of Northern Virginia, the Fairfax County Partnership for Youth, the Fairfax County Association for the Gifted; the J.E.B. Stuart Educational Foundation (founding President); the Fairfax County Boys and Girls club; and the Hampton Court Homeowner’s Association.
