It is the birth place of the father of modern Malayalam, Rev.George Mathan. The village's other attractions are proximity to Aranmula and Sabarimala (both holy places of pilgrimage and worship for Hindus), the Syrian Christian Valiapalli at nearby Mezhuveli, a local market, schools, etc. The KGS Aranmula Airport is coming in the vicinity of Kidangannoor. The airport will start operations for flights within India soon and will be upgraded later to an international airport. This airport will serve the pilgrims visiting the Hindu holy shrine at Sabarimala and also the Maramon Convention of the Christians.The majority of the residents are Christians and Hindus.
