Lac-Mirabel is a super-regional mall currently under construction in Mirabel, Quebec
, Canada. Construction began on January 29, 2008 for 1400000 square feet (130,064.3 m²) of shops, a luxury hotel, and various sports installations. The mall will be anchored by Bass Pro Shops
, an outdoor equipment superstore, and a Sears Canada
store, rumoured to be under the Eaton
banner, which is further supported by working plans. It originally was planned with a Cabela's
and Les Ailes de la Mode
.
The mall's opening was originally due for the fall of 2009, but construction stopped due to a lack of funding.
On April 30, 2010 it was reported that Gordon Group Holdings LLC has proposed scaling down the project. The Lac Mirabel project will become shopping outlets. An official announcement should be made within a month.
There has been speculation that Ivanhoe Cambridge is also considering the site for a Quebec version of its Toronto area Vaughan Mills mixed fashion and outlet centre.
