, which is one of only a few school systems in the state of Georgia to earn AYP for six years in a row. The vision statement of Lee County High School is "Working together to provide superior learning opportunities that empower all students to be life long learners and achievers".

The principal since June 2006 is Kevin Dowling. In 2008, Lee County High School 9th Grade Campus was started. Freshmen attend there for one year before moving to the upper campus. The principal of LCHS 9th Grade Campus is Dr. Jamie Horne.

Academics

The school offers Advanced Placement and Honors classes. The LCHS Math Team have won competitions and championships across Southern Georgia. In 2010, LCHS was named in Newsweek as one of "America's Best High Schools" list.

.' Five students were named to the All star state cast and the Best Award for the One Act Play was also won by a senior at LCHS. The Drama department produces around five plays each year including the musicals. Most of the plays are performed in the Clay Auditorium within the school.

Band: The Lee County High School Band is a dynamic program, well known throughout the Lee and the surrounding counties. The LCHS Marchin' Trojan Band is the largest and most visible portion of the school's instrumental programming. With custom designed shows such as Wicked (2007), Tarzan (2008), The Music of Journey (2009), A Hero's Story (2010), and Where's the Funk: A Celebration of 70's Funk! (2011), the "pride of Lee County" both entertains the Friday night football crowds and regularly participates in Competitions/Festivals through out the state. In 2011, the marching band received straight superior ratings and a third place division finish at Heart of Georgia Marching Invitational (Warner Robins, GA). They have also received superior ratings at the East GA Marching Classic (Statesboro, GA), Sound of Silver Invitational (Pierce County, GA), and the Hawkinsville Marching Festival (Hawkinsville, GA).

Lee County is also home to two concert bands. The LCHS Symphonic Band is a group comprised of grade 9-12 students. It performs regularly at the Christmas Concert, GMEA's Large Group Performance Evaluation (LGPE), and the LCHS Spring "Prism Concert". This ensemble has consistently received straight superior ratings from a distinguished panel of judges at LGPE. The LCHS Wind Ensemble is the county's most prestigious instrumental ensemble. Entry is by audition only and the group is made up of grades 10-12. The Wind Ensemble represents the school in the community at two annual concerts, LGPE, and Graduation. Consistently superior, this ensemble received it's highest ever, straight superior rating at 2011's LGPE performing Sousa's "Semper Fidelis", Whitacre's "October", and Rimsky-Korsakov's "Procession of the Nobles".

With Lee County High School's shift to a seven period day in 2011, the bands also added a Beginning Jazz class to its course offerings. Performing as the "7th Hour Jazz Ensemble," this combo represents the school at various festivals and county events, most recently a community fundraiser with Rookie of the Year Buster Posey. Prior to 2011 the LCHS "Six O'Clock Jazz Band" met after school and performed regularly. This ensemble is also superior rated.

The Director of Bands is Mr.Hank Carter. The Middle School Band Director is Mrs. Carol Kluball.

Publications and broadcasting

The School publishes a n newspaper called The Panoptic. Students from the journalism class write their entries that are published in the newspaper.
LCHS broadcasts the school news called The T-7 News, which is done by the Broadcasting Journalism class.
The Trojan Yearbook is published every year.
