Bounded by Leitrim Road to the north, and Rideau Road to the south, generally between Bank Street
on the east, and Albion Road
to the west, the community design plan outlines the development for the area in the coming years. Findlay Creek Village
is currently the only area under development within Leitrim. Southbrooke is another community planned within the area.
Located nearby are the Leitrim Wetlands
, the Rideau Carleton Raceway, a stormwater system and a military intelligence gathering station CFS Leitrim
.
In September 2005, a local OC Transpo
bus route the #144, started (and continues) to serve the community. A park and ride is located at Bank and Leitrim roads. Although the North-South LRT corridor was cancelled on December 14th, 2006, there are tentative plans at city hall to extend the O-Train down to Leitrim as an improvement to service the city's south end. This has yet to be approved by council.
