The Markham Town Council is the governing body of Markham, Ontario

. It is composed of the Mayor, eight Councillors who each represent one of the town's eight Wards, and four Regional Councillors who, along with the Mayor, are elected by the community to represent the Town of Markham at meetings of York Region Council
.
Council meets at the chambers at the Markham Civic Centre
at the corner of Warden Avenue and Highway 7.
every 3 years until 2006. Due to provincial legislation, the election period has been extended to 4 years, so the next elections will be in 2010.
