Martin MacDonald is an award-winning Canadian
conductor.
since 2008, a position supported by the Canada Council for the Arts. During the past two seasons he has conducted over seventy performances, led the orchestra on tour, covered all concerts and repertoire, and several of his performances have been recorded and broadcast nationally on CBC Concerts on Demand. His upcoming third season sees an increased performance schedule of classical, ballet, pops, and education programs including his debut on the flagship Celebrity series.
In 2010, MacDonald was awarded the Jean-Marie Beaudet Award in Orchestral Conducting, awarded by the Canada Council for the Arts for his work with Symphony Nova Scotia.
